City reminds residents of critical electricity upgrades in Muizenberg, Clovelly, Sun Valley and surrounds

The City reminds residents in Muizenberg, Clovelly, Sun Valley and surrounding areas of an upcoming electricity supply interruption for critical maintenance. It will be carried out from 19:00 on Saturday, 27 June 2026, to 10:00 on Sunday, 28 June 2026. Alternatively, the work will be carried out from 19:00 on Saturday, 11 July 2026, to 10:00 on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

The work will be carried out from 19:00 until 10:00 the next day, if all goes to plan. An alternate date is provided should the work not go ahead as planned. The maintenance will be carried out from:

19:00 on Saturday, 27 June 2026, to 10:00 on Sunday, 28 June 2026 OR
19:00 on Saturday, 11 July 2026 to 10:00 on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

It is important to note that while the impacted areas are indicated on the map, the critical large scale electricity work may also affect surrounding areas. Please see the map where the electricity outage footprint includes street names of the impacted areas.

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned upgrade work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
